Vacuum Forming For The Film, Television,
Exhibition & Interior Design Industries
Plaster is typically used for more bespoke rigid applications where greater realism is required, in particular brickwork, stonework and rockfaces.
Our plaster service uses casting plaster with hessian with optional colouring. .
Plaster is generally more expensive than vacuum formed moulds and is carried out manually by brush on hard moulds. Our capacity is suited for moulds up to 2m by 1m.
Drying time for plaster moulds is typically between 10-20 minutes.
Finished plaster moulds are typically upto 3mm to 6mm thick.
Plaster is naturally white although either a black or a red pigment can be added prior to application which provides both a hard colour base for final finishing as well as preventing unslightly inconsistencies should the finish product be broken on sites (thus otherwise revealing a bright white under plaster).
